David McCormick

Recipient of ‘Most improved Player Award’ from the Richmond Royals.

David McCormick 1 Cropped 2I have the honor to introduce one of my most recent Goalies I worked with, and I’m very proud of his accomplishments!

David McCormick: “My love for hockey started when I was about two years old watching my older brother play in Ashland, Virginia. As soon as I was old enough to play, I started playing roller hockey.

I played in Ashland until I was 12 years old and won a number of championships and most valuable goalie awards.

I switched to ice hockey when I was 13 and fell in love with it. My first travel hockey team was with the U16 Charlottesville Bears in the 2011-2012 season and we lost in the championship game, but I loved the traveling and the friendships I made. It was too long of a drive for practices twice a week so I tried out for the U18 Royals for the 2013/2014 season and made the team. I had a fantastic season and met a great group of guys.

David McCormick 2That season was the most fun by far even though it had it’s ups and downs. My teammates and the coaches made the year so much better. I was honored to receive the ‘Most improved Player Award’ during our Annual Reception.

Since Fall 2014, I’m attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and I’m excited to play on one of their teams.”
